About

Meaghan Golden: The Early Years

I was born to sing the blues.  No, really.  In the earliest home video my parents have of me, I am five years old and belting George Jones’s “He Stopped Lovin’ Her Today” at the top of my lungs.  My very annoyed sister is trying to sleep on the floor.

I guess that urge to entertain has always stuck with me.  In undergrad, I majored in theatre, and picked up an additional communication major as kind of an afterthought...or perhaps it was due to the mandate of my father who maintained that he was not paying for me to “major in flowers.”

I fell in love with advertising, kind of late in the game, during my junior year of undergrad, and was ecstatic to be admitted to the University of Texas AdGrad program following my graduation from Trinity University.  Since then, I’ve been writing my heart out and dodging punny taglines like the plague.

When I’m not bleeding ink, I still like to dabble in art of any kind.  I paint, sing with an a capella group, and do my best to take...well, cool pics...with my Nikon CoolPix P90.  A calico cat named Rilo shares my pillow every night, and a cup of chai tea is with me every morning.
